Question From: Robert
Hello Andy,
Got an offer to buy YourOwnMechanic.com? I already own BeYourOwnMechanic.com and have a website selling a product. Is this legitimate?
From: Andrew
Probably is, but I would not offer more than $100 and they are probably looking to get $1,000s.
From: Robert
Too late. I offered $200.00 Haven't heard back. If they counteroffer,
I'll withdraw all bids.

Hi Robert,
If you get it for $200, guess it is worth it to you. $100 per letter.
Reason why it is not worth more, is because it does not bring in visitors by itself. It will only bring in visitors if you market it. Why should you pay someone when you have to do the work?
If you enter "my own mechanic" into google, your website comes up #2. Their domain does not come up at all, so they should be trying to buy your name.
When you get into two word domain names and certainly three or more words, there are so many possibilities that you have no need of buying someone else's name. You can easily think up a better name with better keywords.
We would need to check the keywords people are searching for and then we could come up with a list of keyword rich domain names. Here are some examples:
- FixYourCar
There are endless possibilities, which you can buy for only $10 a year.
Thanks,
Andrew
