Google loves domain name matches in keyword searches.
My favorite example is a search for: New York Lawyer
You can imagine how much it would be worth to show up on the first page for a search for New York Lawyer.
Every law firm in New York wants to be on the first page and there are countless, powerful law firms in New York.
On the first page, at least at the time of this writing, you will find the website NewYorkLawyer.com. If you go to this website, you will see a dinky website that appears not to have been updated in years.
According to Yahoo SiteExplorer there are 6 pages and 15 incoming links. Not a hefty resume.
How did this website get to the first page?
Two ways, exact match keyword domain name and an old registration. Google also uses the age of the registration as a way to rank the website, which is one of the reasons dot com websites get ranked high.
Moral of this story, get a domain name, or many domain names, with exact match keywords for your search terms.
